What you give it
Every field is optional unless marked; sensible defaults do the rest.
| Field | Type | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
searchQueries |
array | One search per line, e.g. climate change. Each keyword is searched on its own with the filters below; a video found by two searches is delivered once. Combine with Channels to search inside a publisher's videos. At least one of keywords, channels or category is needed. |
["climate change"] |
channels |
array | Publisher channels to read, one per line: the name after dailymotion.com/ (euronews-en) or the link (https://www.dailymotion.com/euronews-en). Returns the channel's videos, newest first by default. Names that do not exist are reported in the run status; the rest are delivered. |
- |
category |
string | Only videos Dailymotion files under this category (its topic list, e.g. News or Sport). Works alone to browse a category, or together with keywords and channels. | any |
sort |
string | Order of the results. Newest first suits monitoring with a date window. Relevance only works with at least one search keyword. Past 1,000 matches for one search the actor continues over date ranges, so the order then holds within each range. | recent |
language |
string | Optional. Two-letter language code of the video, e.g. fr, en, de. |
- |
country |
string | Optional. Two-letter country code the uploader gave the video, e.g. fr, be, us. |
- |
uploadedAfter |
string | Only videos uploaded on or after this date. Format: YYYY-MM-DD (for example 2026-09-08) or a full ISO timestamp such as 2026-09-08T14:30:00Z. Slash dates like 08/09/2026 are refused on purpose: they mean September in Europe and August in the US, and this actor will not guess. |
- |
uploadedBefore |
string | Only videos uploaded on or before this date. Format: YYYY-MM-DD (for example 2026-09-08) or a full ISO timestamp such as 2026-09-08T14:30:00Z. Slash dates like 08/09/2026 are refused on purpose. |
- |
minDurationSeconds |
integer | Optional. Only videos at least this long, in seconds (for example 600 for ten minutes). | - |
maxDurationSeconds |
integer | Optional. Only videos at most this long, in seconds (for example 60 for short clips). | - |
maxItems |
integer | Stop after this many videos in total. Free-plan runs are capped at 5 items. The form starts at 25 for a cheap first run - that is the form's prefill, not a cap on your plan; clear it to use the default of 500. | 500 |
reportFailures |
boolean | When a run fails, send the developer the actor name and build, an error category, the error message (truncated) and a one-way hash of your input - so a bug can be fixed without anyone asking you to reproduce it. Your input itself, your results and your identity are never sent, and successful runs send nothing at all. Switch this off and the actor behaves exactly the same. | True |
What you get back
One JSON object per result, with exactly these fields - no seller identities, no contact data, ever.
| Field | Type | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
id |
string | Dailymotion's id for the video - a stable key. |
url |
string | Direct link to the video on Dailymotion. |
title |
string | Video title as published. |
description |
['string', 'null'] | Description as published, as plain text with line breaks. Null when the uploader left it empty. It is the uploader's own text and is not rewritten. |
durationSeconds |
['integer', 'null'] | Length of the video in seconds. |
views |
['integer', 'null'] | Views at scrape time. |
likes |
['integer', 'null'] | Likes at scrape time. |
createdAt |
['string', 'null'] | When the video was uploaded (ISO timestamp, UTC). |
channel |
['string', 'null'] | The publishing channel's public handle - the part after dailymotion.com/. The byline of the video; pass it back in `channels` to read that channel. |
channelTitle |
['string', 'null'] | The publishing channel's public display name - the byline of the video. |
category |
['string', 'null'] | The Dailymotion category the video is filed under (news, sport, music, tech...). |
language |
['string', 'null'] | Two-letter language code of the video. |
country |
['string', 'null'] | Two-letter country code the uploader gave the video. |
tags |
array | Tags the uploader added. Empty when there are none. |
thumbnailUrl |
['string', 'null'] | Link to the video's 480-pixel-wide thumbnail image. |
isExplicit |
boolean | Whether Dailymotion flags the video as explicit. Always false: the API leaves explicit videos out of its listings. |

Questions
Is scraping Dailymotion legal?
This is not legal advice. The actor reads only Dailymotion's public Data API, which answers anyone without a login or key, at a courteous pace, with no CAPTCHA solving and no private endpoints. Dailymotion's terms of use restrict automated access unless it has approved it in writing, so whether your own use is allowed under those terms and your jurisdiction's rules is yours to assess. Avatars, follower counts, comments and commenters are never requested or output.
Can I scrape more than 1,000 Dailymotion videos for one search?
Yes. Dailymotion serves at most 1,000 results per search, so the actor continues on its own over upload dates: newest-first and oldest-first searches move through time pass by pass, and other orders split the date range in halves until each part fits. Duplicates are removed by video id. Or set uploadedAfter and uploadedBefore yourself and run one window at a time.
Can I scrape the videos of one Dailymotion channel?
Yes. Put the channel name, the part after dailymotion.com/ such as euronews-en, or its link into channels. You get the channel's videos newest first with title, description, duration, views, likes, upload time, tags and thumbnail. Combine it with keywords to search inside the channel, and with uploadedAfter for a daily watch.
How much do 10,000 Dailymotion videos cost?
$30.00, billed per delivered video at $3.00 per 1,000. That price covers the run's platform usage, and a run that fails or returns nothing bills nothing per result.
Does it return comments or who wrote them?
No. Dailymotion's public API offers no comment count, and the actor never requests comments or commenters. You get the publishing channel's display name and handle as the byline of each video, and no avatars, follower counts or profile text. Email addresses typed into titles, descriptions or tags are replaced by [email removed]. A test on every build fails if any such field ever appears in the output.
