A retailer shows one price and one stock state: today's. How often something sells out, how long a discount runs and whether a price rose before it fell are all invisible without a daily record.

Availability is read from the retailer's own delivery wording. A phrase matching neither in-stock nor out-of-stock is recorded as unknown rather than guessed, because a wrong in-stock reading is worse than a missing one.
